We are happy to announce that Spark has been awarded a new contract by the European Commission (DG EMPL) to provide legal support services for the compliance assessment of national transposing measures of the Adequate Minimum Wages Directive (Directive (EU) 2022/2041).
The Directive aims to promote the adequacy of statutory minimum wages in Member States and strengthen collective bargaining across the European Union. By addressing key aspects of minimum wage setting and collective bargaining coverage, the Directive seeks to improve working conditions and increase the access of workers to minimum wage protection. This contributes to building fair and resilient societies and guaranteeing adequate working and living conditions for all.
The objective of the study is to support the European Commission in assessing the compliance of national transposition measures with the provisions of the Directive. This includes a comprehensive review of national legislation and collective agreements, as well as an analysis of how Member States have implemented key requirements under the Directive.
We are excited to lead this project and collaborate with our partners Panteia as well as 27 national legal experts to deliver together a thorough assessment of the Directive’s national implementation.
