Trainees Legal Consultants

Location: Brussels, Belgium 
Duration: 6 months, full-time
Start Date: As of February 2026

About Spark  

Spark is a consultancy dedicated to providing high-quality (cross-border) research, analysis and advisory services in a wide range of EU and national law and policy areas (e.g., Energy, Health, Justice and Home Affairs, Competition). With a growing team of over 25 legal and policy consultants, representing more than 10 European nationalities, we are looking for motivated trainees to join our team in Brussels. 

This is a 6-month traineeship, offering you an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in legal and policy fields, while working in an international, friendly and dynamic environment.

You will support one of the following areas:

  • Internal Market, Financial Affairs and Competition
  • Communication Networks and Technology
  • Employment, Education and Health
  • Private Sector 

What you will do 

As a trainee, you will:

  • Support the preparation and acquisition of new projects and studies through tendering

  • Assist with project management and coordination of cross-border research teams

  • Conduct legal and policy research, analysis, and reporting on findings

  • Liaise and communicate with high-profile experts and clients

  • At least a master’s degree in law (a stage/internship or other work experience at the EU institutions would be a plus)
  • An interest in and understanding of EU law and policy
  • Excellent research and analysis skills
  • A strong work ethic, an enthusiastic, flexible attitude, and excellent communication skills
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • English language proficiency
