New Study on Support for the impact assessment on the revision of the energy security framework

We are proud to announce that we have been awarded a new contract by the European Commission (DG ENER) to ‘Support the impact assessment on the revision of the energy security framework’. This project will contribute to reinforcing the energy security in the EU and supporting its ongoing enhancement, in order to better address disruptions, such as power shortages and broad blackouts.

The objective of the Study is to provide technical, economic and legal support for conducting an impact assessment, which accompanies a legislative proposal to revise Regulation 2019/941 on Electricity Risk-Preparedness and Regulation 2017/1938 on Gas Security of Supply.

Spark, as part of a consortium together with Ramboll and VIS, will contribute to this Study by conducting a comparative legal analysis of the EU legal framework for energy security and those of selected third countries.

Our analysis will identify how the national legal systems address energy security, differences and similarities between the EU and national frameworks, common challenges and areas for improvement, and best practices and successful strategies.

We look forward to working with the European Commission, our partners, and our network of national experts to deliver results that support constructive progress.
