Maya Lewis is trainee at Spark Legal and Policy Consulting, having joined in 2024.
Maya studied Spanish and Portuguese at the University of Bristol and graduated in 2020. She then completed a law conversion in London in 2021 and went on to study an LLM in European Union Law at the University of Amsterdam, graduating in 2022. Her thesis examined whether in two particular rulings, the European Court of Justice should have found discrimination (Article 21 Charter of Fundamental Rights) while still considering the national identity of Member States (Article 4(2) TEU).
Prior to joining Spark, she worked for a year at a legal partner for credit insurance companies in Amsterdam.
Maya is a native English and French speaker and has a good understanding of Spanish and Portuguese.
