Tania Velcsov

Tania Velcsov is a Junior Legal Consultant at Spark Legal and Policy Consulting, having joined the company in 2024. Tania also contributes to Spark’s work for the private sector.

For the private sector, Tania has been involved in projects focused on legal research and compliance with EU or Member State law and policy. Her work involved tasks such as Data Protection compliance and drafting policy briefs. She has also contributed to studies for DG CONNECT, DG TAXUD, DG ENER and OLAF, providing support with legal analysis, desk research, and managing networks for national experts. Currently, she is assisting in managing the project "Study Supporting the Evaluation of the Free Flow of Non-Personal Data Regulation, Open Data Directive, and Data Governance Act" for DG CONNECT.

Tania graduated in 2023 with a Bachelor’s degree in Law from West University of Timisoara in Romania. She then obtained her LL.M in European Law, specialising in Law and Technology from Utrecht University in 2024, where she was awarded a Bright Minds Fellowship scholarship.

Before joining Spark, Tania worked as a student volunteer at a Legal Clinic for Civil Society, where she provided legal assistance to NGOs.

Tania is a native Romanian speaker, fluent in English and has a good understanding of French.
